A tentacle erupts from the sea and pulls a crewman into the depths before anyone can react!

A tentacle snakes out of the water and up into the crow's nest, knocking down <crewmember> before any a man can warn him!

A tentacle whips across the deck, halving poor cabin boy <crewmember> before anyone can even shout "'ware the squid!"
