There are some vague or non-exact figures and information on this page. Some spading is required. How much does the semi-rare give now? How much do you need to get the library key? Check whether the semi-rare pool skill bonus carries into Bad Moon.

Pool Skill is a mechanic that improves your ability to play pool (duh), either in The Haunted Billiards Room, in the Typical Tavern or in your clan's VIP lounge. It can be viewed through the Quest Tracker, but only after encountering Welcome To Our ool Table and before defeating the ghost in afore-mentioned adventure.

A Shark's Chum	Semi-rare	0 - 10	Always		Choosing to Rack 'em up permanently adds to your Pool Skill. This is believed to continue to a maximum of 10 points. This does carry across ascensions. The amount added is not clear; it may be a consistent +1 now, having been +2 at some time in the past.

Drunkenness

Your level of Drunkenness secretly modifies your Pool Skill. This modifier is not currently shown anywhere in-game.

• For every point of drunkenness up to 10 gives you +1 Pool skill, to a maximum of 10.
• Every point beyond 10 drunkenness will then reduce this score by -2 Pool Skill per point of drunkenness. This can go negative and has no known limit.
• For example, a player with 19 drunkenness will have a 10 - (9*2) = -8 Pool skill modifier added by their drunkenness.

Suspected Pool Skill Increasers

Two items are also suspected to improve pool playing ability, despite not showing a Pool Skill enchantment. These include:

• equipping a lucky rabbit's foot
• equipping a shark jumper

No Pool Skill Effect

Some noteworthy items that do not increase Pool Skill include:

• the Staff of Ed (but can be untinkered into the Staff of Fats)

Notes

• Items in your display case do not affect your Pool Skill, as stated by Jick on a radio show.

History

• Shortly after the Spookyraven Manor revamp on 14th May 2014, the effect of your drunkenness on pool skill was shown in the Quest Tracker when trying to get the Spookyraven library key. This was then made hidden sometime the next day.
