Combat Messages
- Regular message(s):
- <name> drills into your skull and siphons out some of your blood, to the tune of X damage.
- <name> swoops at your head, but you duck just in time.
- <name> drills into <his/her/its> skull (or skull-analogue) and siphons out X HP worth of its blood.
- <name> swoops at <him/her/it>, but misses.
(Note that damage is spooky, so may be reduced to 1 against spooky elemental monsters.)
- With lucky Tam O'Shanter equipped:
- <name> drills into your opponent's wallet and siphons out some extra meat.
- With miniature gravy-covered maypole equipped:
- <name> floats around the maypole a few times, whirring musically.
- With wax lips equipped:
- <name> bobs up and down in the air, with the wax lips stuck to its front. This is not the strangest thing you've ever seen, but it's close.
Notes
- Scary Death Orb is an anagram of Carbohydrates.
Arena Messages
- When entered in Hide and Seek:
- <name> doesn't seem to be very good at hiding -- it keeps swooping out at anything it thinks looks like an ice-cream man. Which is most things, apparently.
References
- The familiar is an homage to the shiny, flying kill-bit-sporting death balls called Sentinel Spheres by fans of the Phantasm horror movie series where they originate from
- The arena message given when entering the Scary Death Ball into Hide and Seek is likely a reference to one of Phantasm's protagonists, Reggie (played by Reggie Bannister), who works as an ice cream vendor.
