Notes
- There exists both a monster and a stuffed version of this familiar.
- Acts every round.
- Without a shock collar, this familiar attacks the monster 66% of the time, and the player 33% of the time.
- With a shock collar equipped, this familiar attacks the monster 80% of the time, and the player 20% of the time.
- It will succeed in its attack 10 * ceiling(X/6)% of the time, where X is the familiar's weight. This means between 1 and 6 pounds, it hits 10% of the time; from 13-18 it hits 30% of the time. Theoretically, a 55-pound Stab Bat will not miss.
- Regardless of opponent, a Stab Bat will do int(X/2)+2 to X+2 in damage, where X is the weight of the familiar.
- In The Cake-Shaped Arena the Stab Bat never stabs you.
- In NS 11, ascending with a 20-pound Stab Bat makes you eligible for the Slice and Dice trophy. As of NS 13, this trophy is still available, but the requirements have changed.
References
- The miniature gravy-covered maypole combat message refers to the 1982 song "Safety Dance", by Men Without Hats, in which the line "we can dance if we want to" recurs. Since the Stab Bat is performing an unsafe dance, it stands to reason that "you can't dance if you want to".
