- Every 11 adventures, gives you a buff that lasts 11 adventures. The message you get when this happens is one of the following:
- A clippers-tipped robotic arm emerges from your helmet and gives you a quick face trim.
- A couple of straight razors snake out of a panel on the side of your helmet and quickly give you a shave.
- A nozzle emerges from your helmet and sprays a pattern of depilatory foam on your face.
- A pair of scissors emerges from somewhere in your helmet and adjusts your facial hair.
- Your helmet shoots some lasers at your face. You smell burning hair.
- You cannot get a new buff while you still have a previous buff, and so cannot stack buffs using free fights.
- The buff order depends on your class, as shown in this sheet.

- Has a [configure] option that allows you to add a beard to your avatar.
- Also available through a [Manage Your Facial Hair] link in the Options > Profile page.
- 23 beards are available, as well as an option to go clean-shaven. The beards can also be rotated.
- Is automatically placed in your inventory for you at the beginning of your run, with the message:
- You see the ghost of your Daylight Shavings Helmet hanging out with a bunch of other robot ghosts, and wave it over to you.
