LOV Engineer You're fighting a LOV Engineer

You approach the Engineer and cheerfully ask her what she's doing with all those wires. "Go away," she says, then continues muttering to herself: "Red to green, and then the blue one, and purple is ground for the command console, and the black one connects to..."

"What's the yellow one for?" you ask. "Ooh, that's a nice shade of orange, too."

"...connects to the yellow one and the orange one... uh..."

She sighs and turns to look at you. "Do me a favor," she says. "Hand me a three-eighths wrench from that toolbox."

"This one?"

"Yes, thank you," she says as she swings it at your head.

Hit Message(s):

She decides your <nipple> doesn't have enough access ports, and uses a screwdriver to punch a few new ones. Ooh! Ooh! Argh!

She uses a wrench to unscrew your <nipple> all the way off. Ugh! Eek! Ow!

Critical Hit Message:

She gives you a quick tune-down, which is like a tune-up but opposite. (CRITICAL HIT!) Eek! Oof! Ooh!

Miss Message(s):

She tries to stab you with a screwdriver, but you remind her of the importance of using the right tool for the right job.

She starts to clock you with a wrench, but can't tell by looking if you're metric or imperial.

Fumble Message:

A klaxon suddenly goes off, and you have to wait around for a bit while she leaves to fix something. (FUMBLE!)

After Combat
You acquire an item: LOV Elixir #6 (100% chance if killed using only spells, otherwise 0% chance)*

Having reached some kind of outcome in that fight, you continue down the hall to the next room.

Occurs at L.O.V. Engine Room.

Notes

  • Damage from familiars will prevent the LOV Elixir 6 from dropping. More specifically, if you bring a familiar that can inflict damage in combat, then the Elixir will not drop, regardless of whether or not the familiar does any damage. For example, the Intergnat and Robortender will prevent the Elixir from dropping, even if the familiar doesn't inflict any damage.
  • Casting any spell that doesn't deal damage or dealing damage with anything other than a spell blocks the drop. So, for example, Stuffed Mortar Shell does not work, as it does not deal damage on the round you cast it.
  • As the Engineer has a much lower physical resistance than elemental resistance, spells such as Weapon of the Pastalord or Stringozzi Serpent are good for getting the elixir to drop.
