Talk:Infernal Seals
It seems that your off-hand isn't checked for clubbiness. I had an obsidian dagger in my offhand, and it did a few points of physical damage, along with the standard +3 of each element. --Elseif 22:20, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Could I reccomend adding a Monster Level entry to the tables? ~ Mojotech
losing gives beaten up for 4 adventures --Hrag 10:41, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
I didn't see this mentioned, but winning does not always grant you the items. Happened to me at least twice that I didn't get anything from winning. --Muhandes 19:41, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
I think that more then just bad-ass club smithing parts can drop from the seals. Also, does elemental damage work as normal?--Brion thenotgiant 02:40, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- There's more, I found an Infernal Toilet Brush from Servant of Grodstank. --OvenMage 09:23, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- As long as it is part of a club-based attack I believe elemental damage will work. So if you have, say, an orange heart and you smack a seal with a club you'll do +5 hot damage (before accounting for elemental type). This is based on what I've heard clannies mention. I won't be able to fight any seals until a bit after rollover, when I can finally finish a run which has taken much longer than it should have. --Flargen 03:24, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
I take it the extra figurines do not appear for those who aren't Seal Clubbers? (I've not yet found any as a Turtle Tamer.) --Sparksol (t|c) 10:31, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- They only drop for Seal Clubbers. --MeTorterra 21:02, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Has anyone checked to see if the hippy camp still drops the seal if its bombed back to the stone age? --Murixbob 05:07, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Are none of the drops 100% chance drops?--Brion thenotgiant 05:25, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
It seems there is a 5/day drop limit on the greater seal figurines. I've just spent over 100 adventures at the friars' gate followed by 40 at the goatlet with no figurine drops. I did receive a charred figurine before the dry spell, and also picked up 4 stinking figurines earlier.--Hawksmoor 02:42, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- There is definitively a 5/day limit on USAGE (used each of the basic seals, and the frozen seal, once, and then tried to use another frozen seal and was told I had "summoned too many Infernal seals today"), so if there is a limit to the drops, they are likely 5/day as well.--Aerion 09:09, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- I'm seeing the same thing. After finding 3 sleek and 2 slippery figurines, I spent aroun 150 turns and got nothing. I'm thinking that yeah, 5/day max for drops as well. --Vegan 13:41, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
- Not quite correct. After doing my daily round through all 5 elements, collecting 5 figurines, I also do some more turns in Sonofa Beach for the set of 3 sleek seals. I think their appearance might not be limited by finding the other figurines, but it might affect finding more figurines afterwards. -- Ruby Eyes 10:14, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Two things I've discovered is that some items seem to be pick-pocketable in Bird-Ford, and if you have a club equipped, a non-club weapon in your offhand will deal regular damage (I used an obsidian dagger). Also...I'm betting that we're missing a few seals, a lot of text refers to Seven Seals, and while we have a total of ten, four of them are associated with proper nouns (Wally, Sparky, Grodstank, Black Bubbles).--Four of Five 3:02 13 May 2009
- seems to me that whatever drop mechanic is in place, the upshot is that you can only get five of each kind of seal per day. i run ~320 turns in the hippy camp per day and only ever get five. my guess is it's not like agua da vida (flat cap) but like the oyster eggs (diminishing returns) and so much so that the likelihood of getting a sixth is pretty near but not equal to zero. --Evilkolbot 11:57, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- I've been finding, in ronin where I'm not running with any combat modifiers or many buffs at all, that I get a lot quickly. Sometimes two or three in a row (no regular adventures between them) and then I hit the five limit and no more. For example I got five charred seals while getting my organ of steel. That doesn't seem like the oyster egg diminishing returns at all. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 21:17, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
- An exception to the limit of five figurine drops seems to exist with the sleek seals. I've only encountered Crate Expectations once, but I was able to get more than five greater seal figurines that day. Maybe the limit is five seal drop encounters, and since Crate Expectations drops three figurines it gives a higher drop loophole? Anyone else have experience to share? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:28, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
- A while later in the same ascension, my belief now is that the five level 6 greater seals seal figurines have a limited per day drop (5 total), but there is no acquire limit to purchasable figurines or the sleek seal figurines. There is, of course, the limit to the seal summonings. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:44, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
I don't have a spooky putty sheet, but I just tested and sure enough, Infernal Seals cannot be 4-d Camerad. Camera'd. Captured with a 4-d Camera.--Lukarnis 11:32, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
It seems combat rounds with infernal seals carry over to the next combat. Is this true with all inventory combat? --Proto Fan 10:04, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
- Your question makes no sense to me. Can you rephrase? --Club (#66669) (Talk) 18:08, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
In case anyone came here wondering, entangling noodles does work on the seals. --lucasw 14:43, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
Adventure Frequency Issue?
As of May 8, 2009, it appears a bug may have surfaced with the mechanic for the seal drops. As noted in my entry on the Skelter Butleton Discussion page and the reply by Flargen, several non-standard events seem to have been impacted. I have submitted a Bug Report in case there is, in fact, a real bug.--Mis2027 20:43, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Misc.
This doesn't really seem to belong in the main page, but it is an interesting mechanic. (Is there a more appropriate location for tips 'n tricks sort of stuff like this?) But I noticed that a having Purple Tongue active fires when fighting seals, essentially allowing a 'free' (in the turn sense) 100 HP/MP a day. Haven't experimented with Tiny Bubbles in the Cupcake, but suspect it does the same. I'm finding this handy in hardcore. --Snugglypoo 13:43, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- The CSA fire-starting kit HP/MP regen works as well.--MageRed (talk) 22:12, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Infernal seal combats do cause the Snow Suit to droop.Cheesecookie 10:10, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, but, for most purposes fighting an infernal seal is FREE. See above comment (in this section) on FREE turns of purple tongue's HP/MP restore. So if infernal seals are not FREE for the Snow Suit, that is indeed noteworthy. I'd suggest Cheesecookie file a bug report. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 02:14, 17 January 2013 (CET)
- As far as I can remember sugar shields break as well if you use them in Seal or BRICKO fights. On the other hand you do get familiar EXP for those combats as well, so I'm assuming it's intentional. Nevertheless if you feel this shouldn't happen, send a bug report. Even if it's not a bug we will get clarity on this topic. --Yatsufusa 12:23, 17 January 2013 (CET)
Bug report submitted and response: This is by design; the "droop" is indeed based on the number of fights it's used on, and not on an effect counter. Thanks, --Gem Cheesecookie 21:37, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Damage Immunity
Likely a bug, but the He-Boulder's major yellow ray is currently instant-killing Infernal Seals (and dropping all their items).--Agburanar2 19:42, 2 August 2009 (UTC) Pumpkin bombs work too...--Modran 13:07, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
And pleasing for me in my Surprising Fist SC run, the unbearable light from the clipart also works, perhaps it should be mentioned that this is, bar actually using clubs, the most viable tactic for the empty handed Seal Clubber to obtain dead seals!--Gleamglade 13:39, 13 September 2012 (CEST)
Creating Monsters From Figurines

- it is in Bard's Tale though. Probably also in AD&D and some dime-novel fantasy too. It may originally be based on Golem.Spriteless 19:56, 18 August 2011 (CEST)
New Nemesis Quest
Something's allowing me to fight 10 per day (using the actual figurines, rather than the depleted uranium one), presumably something I did/obtained when playing through the secret volcano island. I took the shortcut past the lava, so there's the possibility that some folks can do more. --ArgghFW 12:11, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
Way of the Surprising Fist
Even with Master of the Surprising Fist and Iron Palms, your mighty fists sadly do not count as clubbing weapons. Bummer. --Lizardking 19:12, 18 August 2011 (CEST)
