...wth? is it just me or is this the icon for GKOL???? http://www.radiogkol.com/ ninjaedit - i'm an idiot, it's from the first version of the nemesis cave--Silent Knight 04:57, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Pretty sure this guy scales, and absolutely sure his attack is greater than 185. He hit me five times with 229 Moxie, three times with the "twists" message and once each with the "nudges" and "treats" messages. He had 255-343 HP, so the 260 HP figure given may be a constant. --Professor Why 13:06, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

  • I believe these guys have special attack mechanics that allow them to essentially ignore your defenses. Lots of special/boss monsters tend to have that sort of business these days. Maybe that's scaling in this case, but I don't think it is. Reverted the data changes. Though if one of the main spaders on this stat says differently, they can always be adjusted to correctly reflect the truth. --Flargen 13:39, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
    • The best way to check attack/defense values is to use the dwarvish war gear. Failing that, you can check if you're hit at all at a very high moxie value, and also how much damage you receive if you are. Very little damage suggests the monster is hitting you through special conditions while having a low attack.--Ryo_Sangnoir 16:38, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
      • At 248 buffed Moxie, level ten, he's hitting me for somewhere between 15 and 20 every turn. Definitely not 185 attack. --Maramros 18:34, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
        • Those figures are useless without some sort of comparison. You might like to compare him with other monsters of the same (as guessed by you) monster level. If he's hitting you at 248 moxie, then you'd guess he's around 240 or so, head to the bombed hippy/frat camp where there are monsters of around 240 ML. If they do 15-20 damage per turn, that's a good indication his ML is around 240. Head back with 170 moxie, check the damage he does to you, head to the middle chamber or something and do the same thing. This isn't great because the figures aren't exact, your mainstat could be changing, etc etc but hopefully you'll get the gist of it.--Ryo_Sangnoir 10:58, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
    • I take your point about the possibility of a special attack mechanic here, but as long as "attack=185" is set on the monster data page, "Moxie for No Hit: 195" will appear in A Volcanic Cave and people who rely on that figure will lose needlessly. I know the no-hit value can be set independently of attack (e.g. gremlins in the Junkyard) and I propose that it be set to "?" while verification of the attack rating takes place. --Professor Why 10:14, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
      • The special attack mechanic means that this guy will hit you no matter how high your moxie is, but the damage he deals should decrease the higher your moxie is. Go back with 4000 or so moxie, check if you get hit, post your findings.--Ryo_Sangnoir 10:58, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
        • Right, and because it is well-recognized that gremlins can (and always do) hit regardless of moxie, their "Moxie for No Hit" is listed as infinite. My point is that this monster's "Moxie for No Hit" should not be listed as 195. I can't see at the moment how to set that value (independently of the attack value) in the metadata, and I'd appreciate it if someone would show me. --Professor Why 12:10, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm confused... I figured I could beat the third fight against the Spirit by plinking with Break It On Down and letting my Misshapen Animal Skeleton deal the majority of the damage each round. However, it seems that BIOD's stunning effect doesn't trigger every round. Sometimes it's worked, allowing me free hits, and sometimes it hasn't. Why is this?

  • Edit: I've determined that the Spirit can recover from either Rave Knockout or Break It On Down and attack in the same round. This may just be me, though. --TheNachomancer 05:26, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Elemental/Physical Resistance

With 22 musc, a love song of vague ambiguity did 17 damage. So, ~20% physical resistance at low levels of damage.

With +16 prismatic damage, an attack did +12 prismatic damage. With +15, an attack did 12. So, ~20% resistance at low levels of damage.

With 164 musc, a love song of vague ambiguity did 114 damage. This implies ~30% physical resistance.

With 457 mox, a love song of icy revenge did 206 damage. This implies ~55% elemental resistance.

It looks like it has a soft damage cap, which starts at ~20% and increases as your damage increases. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 19:42, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

At 100 musc, both musc-related love songs did 75 damage. At 80 musc, love songs did 60 damage. I'll have to test more tomorrow, since I'm out of adventures. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 19:51, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
