Talk:White Citadel Quest/Old

From A KoL Wiki

I got the Lucky Rabbit's Foot as a Moxie class as well, so I assume Muscle classes will as well. Can't remember any of the text Izzy gave me, though. --Eyejayarr 03:04, 5 July 2006 (CDT)

Does anyone know if this is a required quest? --RogerN 09:54, 5 July 2006 (CDT)

  • Riff said on the forums that the meatcar will be the only required guild quest. Phlip 10:45, 5 July 2006 (CDT)

extra text

If visiting the guild member that assigned you the quest before completing it, you get the following text:

Olav the janitor: "You have brought me no food? Do not tempt my wrath, for wrath brought on by hunger is a fearsome wrath indeed! Also, I'll totally bash you with my mop. Go now to Whitey's Grove in the Distant Woods, and I will pay you when you return with the food that I require."

Blaine: "Did you get my food yet? Please hurry, I don't think extreme weakness brought on by malnutrition is increasing my chances of magicing my way out of this crate, you know? The White Citadel is near Whitey's Grove, in the Distant Woods." Teffania

Izzy the Lizard: "Hey buddy, what's with the delay on my food, huh? I don't wanna wait till Crimbo, you know? Just hit up the White Citadel. It's near Whitey's Grove, in the Distant Woods." SeeSaw

Order

  • On both characters I did this quest on, I didn't get the catnip before failing to pass the cheetah once (and exactly once), and I didn't get the hang-glider before finding the cliff once (and exactly once)... has anyone gotten the quest items before finding the things they're needed to pass, or failed the passing multiple times? Phlip 12:11, 6 July 2006 (CDT)

All of the times I've done this quest (six now, I think), all of the following has been true:

  • You never get the catnip before first seeing the cheetah, and you never get the hang glider before first seeing the cliff.
  • You never fail the cheetah or the catnip twice.
  • You always get the catnip from the very first hippy you see after the cheetah, and you always get the hang glider from the very first orcs you see after the cliff.

If anyone has observed something contrary to that, I'd like to know. --Ragnok 19:27, 18 July 2006 (CDT)

Angry Raccoon Puppet

Once I recieved a drop from the raccoon, I didn't receive another even when running away from the Orcs to avoid getting the hang glider for 57 turns (approx 12 raccoon encounters). The three multis, all Mysticality class, all received googly eyes. Perhaps this is a multi ascension means of building a Yeti doll or the like?--Tara Phinstashun 19:52, 8 July 2006 (CDT)

One DB got a stuffing, nothing else. A TT got felt. Two others got nothing.--Tara Phinstashun 21:52, 10 July 2006 (CDT)

I had no problem getting all of the possible drops from raccoons with a single (unascended) multi. --Ragnok 19:27, 18 July 2006 (CDT)

Incorrect Level

I unlocked the quest at level 6, with around 36 in my main stat. Basically, around halfway between level 6 and level 7. Is it possible that the level needed to unlock this is 6.5? --PhantomTrogdor 20:03, 8 July 2006 (CDT)

Got it at level 6 with 36 in main stat. Checked at 34 and didn't get it.--FatQuack 10:49, 9 July 2006 (CDT)

I doubt this needed any more confirmation, but I didn't get the quest with 35 in my main. One adventure which was enough to gain me a stat point and at 36 the quest was there. --Crowther 11:04, 14 July 2006 (CDT)

Re: this edit... perhaps it opens at 36 mainstat and 4 substats? That comes to exactly 36² + 4 = 1300 substats total, which is a nice round number. Phlip 03:36, 16 July 2006 (CDT)

I just got the quest with 36 main and 4 sub. --Crowther 11:41, 3 August 2006 (CDT) I just got the quest with 36 main and 1 sub. --Crowther 18:03, 24 August 2006 (CDT) I just didn't get the quest with 36 main and 0 sub, and then got it with 36 main and 3 sub. --Antaeus Feldspar 14:43, 25 November 2006 (CST)

I'm a Disco Bandit and I just got in with exactly 35 moxie. User:FooBarBazQux 17:31 7 Feb 2007 AEST

  • I am a Seal Clubber who just got the quest with 35 Muscle. --'Ivan 03:15, 9 February 2007 (CST)
  • As an Accordion Thief I just got it with only 34 Moxie! Huzzah! --Holler 22:21, 9 March 2007 (CST)
  • I got it as sauce with only 34 myst. The article is wrong, but I'm not sure what the correct test is. --Crowther 12:19, 11 March 2007 (CDT)
  • I just wanted to point out that at the top of the page it says 34 unbuffed, and at the bottom it says 35, I received the quest today when I hit 34 unbuffed muscle as a seal clubber.--Macman104 23:55, 31 May 2007 (CDT)

Prerequisites

Being able to adventure in Whitey's Grove is probably the prerequisite to getting the quest. I have a Bitchin' meatcar but Olaf is not offering the quest yet.--Pukeko 04:58, 5 July 2006 (CDT)

  • It might be related to building the Dingy dinghy (?); I just built the dingy, after which the quest message turned up at the guild. Not positive of this though. --Nappa 05:17, 5 July 2006 (CDT)
  • Not specifically the Dingy dingy. I'm a Lv6 AT, I had the meatcar and no quest so built the dingy dinghy, still no quest. --Natilena 09:16, 5 July 2006 (CDT)

I think that you need to have completed the leet trapzor quest first, since you won't be getting the extreme cold outfit early. this needs testing though.

  • Definitely not! My Hoxy Pastamancer had the trapzor quest available, but hadn't even visited the trapzor when the Citadel quest was implemented. I started and completed it before moving on to the trapzor.--Squi 20:45, 8 July 2006 (CDT)

The article says "This quest will not be offered until you have 36 of your main stat and have completed the Typical Tavern Quest." This is incorrect.

  • I have not turned off the rat faucet, but I am finished the White Citadel quest.

ColtsScore 09:07, 9 September 2006 (CDT)

  • Confirmed, I just tested this with my multi that's been avoiding going to the council and was assigned this quest without even having had the Typical Tavern quest assigned to me yet. In fact, that character doesn't even have the Distant Woods unlocked :-). I'm removing the note about the Tavern Quest being a prerequisite. --SeeSaw 20:57, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Quest Name

Has anyone noticed that the accomplishments shows the name of your current familiar, not the one you did the quest with?--Pharo212 12:10, 13 November 2006 (CST)
