Many areas in the game required the purchase of a Mr. Store item to unlock. To allow access to players who could not afford or missed the relevant Mr. Store item, access items may be freely traded.
The very oldest Mr. Store items simply generated items that allowed access to the content and could be freely traded to anyone else. Newer content has day passes, these passes have to be farmed by owners of the Mr. Store item and cannot be used by them, instead they are traded to other players and when used grant access to the Mr. Store content typically for a day until the following rollover.
Access items also exist for the Kokomo Resort which is rarely available as a PvP season reward. As well as several access items that were sold by Uncle P's Antiques in 2010.
special edition Batfellow comic is sent once a week to players who have successfully completed (at least 1 villain defeated) 20 Batfellow comics, providing permanent access.
Content unlockers
The following items are from the oldest content and can be found easily in the mall in the "Content Unlockers" category. They are usually the only way to access the related content, Mr. Store owners can generally generate these.
Day passes
These provide temporary access to content that Mr. Store owners have permanent access to, they cannot be used when you already have permanent access (except for Interview With You (a Vampire), but there is no benefit for plastic vampire fangs owners using this). All can be found in the mall category "Content Unlockers".
Monster summoners
These items allow a single fight with a monster. almost-dead walkie-talkie, Dish of Clarified Butter and time residue are in the "content unlockers" category, while megacopia, molehill mountain, and shaking skull (which is untradeable and has to be created from skeletons) are not in the category.
Incomplete Access
The following do not offer full access to their content due to restrictions or limits on the creation of the access item.
Gateway item | Access details | Gateway item acquired by | Content unlocked | Issues |
---|---|---|---|---|
![]() LOV Entrance Pass |
Access for 1 ride/day | L.O.V. Exit. 3 once per account. | The Tunnel of L.O.V.E. | 3 per account limit means only one other player can access the factoids from monsters in the zone, resulting in unreasonably high costs for access. This also puts a strict limit on the number of entrance passes, which no other access item is subject to. |
![]() portable Spacegate |
Access for 1 day. (standard 20 adventure limit applies) | Spacegate Fabrication Facility (1000 pages of Spacegate Research) | Through the Spacegate | You only have access to a random planet each day. While the quests and factoids are completable if you do not ascend, this is dependant on luck, all players would have to pay a high cost and spend a much larger than normal time to complete the content. The unluckiest of players may never complete them due to the randomness. |
No Access
The following content lacks a means of access outside of owning the Mr. Store item.
- Shadow Rifts, the zones are accessible in Avatar of Shadows Over Loathing, but there is no means of Calling Rufus. This makes the boss factoids and the tattoo inaccessible.
