Been away from the Kingdom for a while and wanted to quickly get up to speed with the most important changes? This page lists changes to the game that fulfill the intentionally vague criteria of "significant", such as changes to quests and things that a typical player might interact with on a frequent basis, as well as links to limited time content you missed.

31 Aug: IOTM a new steamy cheerleader familiar which starts each day extra powerful but power decays with use.

1 Aug: Folder Holder accessory that holds folders allowing the customization of benefits. Folder selection retained through ascension. This IOTM was delayed one day.
Seasonal Challenge Path
14 Aug: KOLHS: Summer is over, time to go back to high school.
Zone Changes
17 Aug: The Daily Dungeon completely changed, and Gelatinous Cubeling now drops items that help in the DD.
24 Aug: The Hidden City has completely changed.
29 Aug: Degrassi Knoll has completely changed.
30 Aug: The Shore has completely changed, and Desert Beach has slightly changed.
Minor Updates
14 Aug: The smut orc pervert can no longer be copied, but appears more often.

July 2013

July 3: Clan hot dog stand, a VIP Lounge item, lets a guy sell hot dog to members.
Interface
The left hand side Character Pane now can (and will by default) show icons to reapply buffs from skills or items, and can use anti-anti-antidotes or soft green echo eyedrop antidotes via a right-click, in the same manner as "shrug off".
Clan
27 July: Dreadsylvania, a new clan dungeon with a difficulty (not speed) scoring mechanic.

June 1: Adventurer clone egg which hatches into a Mini-Adventurer, your own pet Mini-Seal Clubber / Mini-Turtle Tamer / Mini-Pastamancer / Mini-Sauceror / Mini-Disco Bandit / Mini-Accordion Thief. (Class resets on Ascension.)
Events
Little Canadia has had a makeover. It has a spunky new hairdo and a sweet new quest.

May 1: Order of the Green Thumb Order Form, which allows access to the Florist Friar, who can plant useful plants in the zones you adventure in.
Seasonal challenge path
May 14: BIG!: "You begin the game much larger (level 15), but all of the monsters are larger too!"
Mechanics
May 22: The way ranged damage is calculated was changed, and Moxious Maneuver was eliminated.

Apr 1: The Libram of Pulled Taffy allows the summoning of pulled taffy, which has particularly useful effects in the Sea.
April Fools!
The Spectral Pickle Factory reappeared.
Sea Improvements - The Seven Weeks of March
The improvements to the Sea that were originally planned to happen in March extended to April as well, including an end to the Sea Monkees Quest.

Mar 1: Jarlsberg's pan is an off-hand item that makes Avatar of Jarlsberg better, including turning germy food into potion making Cosmic Calories. It may be pulled in hardcore Avatar of Jarlsberg runs.

Febrary 18: The level 10 quest has been fleshed out a bit. There are more giants and more giant stuff.

October 24: The Silent Invasion, features the return of the four-shadowed mimes.

September 1:The box of bear arms has a pair of arms that can be equipped separately or together, and are initial item (not even a Hagnk's pull) for those in the Zombie Slayer path.
Events
September 18: new (permanent) item added to Mr. Store, the Monster Manuel, who will help you gather interesting facts and boring statistics about the monsters you encounter.

August 2: The Unagnimated Gnome, a fairy-type familiar with various equipment items to add other abilities.
Seasonal challenge path
August 14: Zombie Slayer. The dead are rising! Okay, it's been known to happen from time to time -- zombies aren't exactly rare in the Kingdom -- but this time it's serious! Take up arms to fight the undead hordes, before the entire Kingdom falls to a zombie apocalypse!

July 1: The Camp Scout backpack is available for purchase. The backpack gives +15% item drops in the new back item slot and drops useful items throughout the day (even from Hagnk's for HC players).

July 24: Mt. McLargeHuge got a makeover, with a new Trapper, and slightly different tasks to complete the quest.

June 1: The Artistic Goth Kid is available for purchase. The Goth Kid functions similar to a Mini-Hipster and gives out extra PVP fights.

June 12: A series of Brushfires break out on The Nearby Plains. The outbreak was preceded by suspicious messages in the Cobb's Knob.

June 28: Adventurers learned they have backs.

May 1: The Olympic-sized Clan crate installs An Olympic-Sized Swimming Pool in your clan VIP Lounge.
PvP
May 1: Complete overhaul of PvP combat. The first season begins.
Seasonal challenge path
May 15: Bugbear Invasion. In an alternate timeline, an alien bugbear attack force replaces the Naughty Sorceress as the threat to the kingdom.
Minor Updates
May 1: Visiting the hermit no longer consumes permits, and hacking with the hermit script now increases the number of clovers he doles out.
May 1: Also, the rims moved from the hermit to the market.
May 21: Flavour of Magic and Iron Palm Technique are now togglable intrinsics.

Apr 1: Boris's Helm helps out in combat, regenerates MP, boosts your familiar/minstrel, and can (optionally) give +15ML. It may be pulled in hardcore Avatar of Boris runs.

Feb 15: Avatar of Boris. Live the life of a mighty warrior from the Time of Old! You can't use your permed skills, but can learn from 30 new ones.

Feb 2: The blackbird no longer flies away when you use the map.
Feb 15: The bonerdagon and NS no longer destroy combat items upon blocking them.
Feb 18: Oh, and ditto for the shadow.

Nov 15: Trendy. Forbids use of content (such as skills, items, or familiars) that has been unavailable for longer than a year.

Oct 3: The Make-Your-Own-Vampire-Fangs kit is released, with the bind-on-use plastic vampire fangs inside. In addition to a few chat effects, they let you Feed and vamp out.
Halloween event
Oct 16–31: The Haunted Sorority House clan dungeon.
Minor updates
Oct 6: An optional yet hilarious fullness counter may now be enabled.
Oct 17: Outfit names now link to a description of that outfit's special effect, and several that lacked enchantments now possess one.
Oct 18: Limited-time skill books now turn into used copies when used.

Sep 3: The Tome of Clip Art allows the summoning of many items.

Sep 9–11: at KolCon VIII the Gygaxian Libram was available for purchase.
Server hacking!

  • Limited time content: Bigg's Dig.
  • Major revamp: Numerous changes were made to the cooking and cocktailcrafting systems.
    • Most recipes no longer cost an adventure to cook/mix, only those using ingredients marked as fancy cost an adventure or use up in-a-box charges.
    • Food and drink now give an indication of their quality in their description.
    • Ode to Booze and milk of magnesium were changed, you now lose turns of the effects when you eat/drink equal to the amount of organ space used. Each turn of effect used this way gives one additional adventure.
    • Sushi-rolling mats are cheaper but no longer persist across ascensions once used.

  • The cost of guild skills were changed, the lower levels are considerably cheaper and the final levels a bit more expensive.
