Combat Messages
- Regular message:
- <name> notices you're bleeding, nearly faints at the sight, then bandages you with a strip torn from his ruffly sleeves.
![]() | You gain some hit points. |
- <name> touches you with one exquisitely-manicured claw. The built-up static electricity in his wool suit shocks you.
![]() | You gain some Mana Points. |
- <name> does a mincing two-step, swinging his tail like a cane. Though it's utterly lacking in vim and verve, you applaud politely.
- With the safarrri hat equipped:
- <name> cowers in fear, peeking occasionally at your hat. You tell him to be a lion, not a mowouse, but he doesn't listen.
- With a whip-type weapon equipped as your primary weapon:
- Like the majority of whipholders, you crack your whip. <name> is startled by the noise and goes feral, clawing your opponent for X damage. All fear the kitten with a whip!
- With lucky Tam O'Shanter equipped:
- <name> winks underneath his Tam O'Shanter. Somehow he's found a matching scarf, so he's impeccably dressed as always.
- With miniature gravy-covered maypole equipped:
- <name> does a little country lion dancing around the maypole. Don't hit me.
- With wax lips equipped:
- <name>'s fangs poke through the wax lips, making him lisp even more than usual.
Arena Messages
- When entered in an Ultimate Cage Match:
- <name> doesn't want to get his nice clothes dirty. He's a dancer, not a fighter.
Notes
- Increases item drops by the same factor as a Gravy Fairy.
- HP and MP are both determined by the familiar's weight: anywhere from (N+5)/2 to N+5, where N is the familiar's weight. (A 1-pound Dandy Lion will restore from 3 to 6 HP/MP, while a 25-pound Dandy Lion will restore 15-30 HP/MP.) Fractions are rounded down.
- The Dandy Lion will restore HP/MP roughly 50% of the time.
- The formula for damage dealt with a whip equipped appears to be the same as a Sabre-Toothed Lime: (floor(weight/2)+2) to (weight+2)
- If both the safarrri hat and a whip are equipped, you will only get the hat message, never the whip message/effect.
- If you are full on either HP or MP when the Dandy Lion activates, the corresponding message(s) will not be displayed.
- In a 100 adventure test run, there were no special effects when the Cat-Herding Prod was equipped.
