Notes

• Refraining from using a ten-leaf clover for clover adventures (see below) or special clover uses (see further below) over the course of an entire Hardcore ascension unlocks the Bad Moon zodiac sign. Basically, if 'Your ten-leaf clover disappears in a puff of smoke' would appear, don't do it.
• The normal Uses (see above) do not prevent Bad Moon.
• Having a ten-leaf clover in your inventory gives special adventures (see below) in a number of locations. After this adventure, one of your ten-leaf clovers will vanish.
• In order to avoid inadvertent special clover adventures, clovers may be used to convert them to disassembled clovers. Disassembled clovers may be used to restore them to ten-leaf clovers.
• Needed for the Pagoda Quest.
• Clovers are almost unavailable during a Bad Moon run; the 31337 scroll will not give them, the Hermit will not trade them, they don't drop in the Barrel Full of Barrels, and so on; however, they can still drop in the Heap. Instead of a disassembled clover, characters beginning a Bad Moon run receive a big rock.

• All of these adventures and uses will consume a clover.
• The Itznotyerzitz Mine is a special clover location, as adventuring here with a clover will give you either the Either Ore adventure or the A Real Gem adventure.
• Some locations (Orcish Frat House and The Hippy Camp) give better clover rewards if you adventure there with the appropriate disguise.
• Some locations (The Misspelled Cemetary and Guano Junction) give better clover rewards after you have completed part or all of a quest associated with that location.

Special Uses

These will cost a you a ten-leaf clover but not an adventure.

• When using the Elf Farm Raffle ticket: you win pagoda plans (one time only).
• When using the skeleton key in the A Perplexing Door: you get an automatic 11.
