Consumable items (food, booze, and spleen) can sometimes be modified. This commonly takes the form of a useable item with an affect upon your "next drink" or "next food", such as the Flagellate flagon. While that's the most common, there are many other forms modifiers can be encountered like holidays, equipment, or in some cases even food/booze themselves!

Bonuses can come in the form of extra adventures, extra stat gain, or bonus effects.
