[ Return to Dressing For Success ]
As the Sombrero vs. Volleyball page shows, there is always a point in Monster Level where using a Hovering Sombrero will yield more stats than using a volleyball-type familiar. Thus, speed ascenders will wish to boost ML as much as possible.

Notes
- Currently, the only familiars which can increase monster level are the Purse Rat, the Baby Bugged Bugbear (with the bugged balaclava equipped for +20), and the Disembodied Hand with a +ML weapon equipped.
- The Brimstone gear provides variable +ML depending on the number of distinct pieces worn (+2n ML for n pieces).
- The Hand in Glove's +ML enchantment is equal to your Smithsness level. The Glove by itself provides 5 Smithsness.
- There is a set of Slime Hates It items that increase monster level as well, but only in the Slime Tube.
