• Thwaitgold refers to Bobcat Goldthwait, a comedian.
• While working on the Harvard Mark II computer in 1947, operators found a moth causing a fault in the machine. "Debugging" was already a common term in engineering, and the operators were amused that they finally found an actual bug, so they taped it into the logs.
