Several monsters in the kingdom have attacks, or responses to attacks, which can confer undesirable effects upon you.
Regular Negative Status Effects
These, unlink the effects from Dreadsylvania, all can be removed with a soak in the hot tub.
Prevention Equipment
There are certain pieces of equipment which can prevent the regular effects from being inflicted 75% of the time:
Equipping multiple sources of protection will not increase their effect; having a giant pinky ring and an ancient stone head equipped, for example, will still only block 75% of status attack.
When one of these items blocks a negative effect, one of these messages will be displayed:
- You have an intense feeling of dread, but it quickly passes.
- There's a tingling in your <head>, but the feeling passes.
- You get a little queasy, but the feeling quickly passes.
The bezoar ring prevents all poison effects 100% of the time.
Dreadsylvania Status Effects
Monsters in the Clan Dungeon Dreadsylvania have harder to remove negative status effects. The Hot Dreadsylvanian cocoa, an NPC store item costing one Freddy Krueggerand, will remove these.

Positive Status Effects
There are a few attacks that are positive, and are listed here for inclusiveness only. Unlike the effects listed above, they cannot be removed with all-purpose cleaner. (Some people consider the -ML of Fearless a negative attribute, but the game does not.)
