Some zones may be inaccurate due to changes on August 5. |
Turtle Tamers have the ability to find and tame various turtles, which in turn provide items, equipment, and familiars.
Turtle Tamers make progress in encountering a Turtle Taming adventure for a specific zone every time they win a combat. Each zone has its own counter for the amount of turns required until a Turtle Taming adventure occurs. Therefore, spending turns in another zone will not make progress in encountering a Turtle Taming adventure for other zones.
When defeating a copied monster, you will make progress in the last zone you've adventured in. This allows you to encounter Turtle Taming adventures even in zones that contain no monsters.
The delay for the first Turtle Taming adventures is significantly shorter than subsequent Turtle Taming adventures. Either delay can be decreased with items with the effect "Helps You Tame Turtles". The following have the "Helps You Tame Turtles" effect:
- Eau de Tortue, from turtle pheromones (30 Adventures)
- turtling rod/Flail of the Seven Aspects (Does not stack with each other)
- Garter of the Turtle Poacher

Notes
- Finding a turtle does not consume an adventure.
- Clover Adventures do not override taming, but some Wandering monsters may.
History
- Turtle Taming was revamped on July 15, 2014. Previously, Eau de Tortue was required to encounter the Turtle Taming adventures, which gave a Turtle Taming adventure at a random time. Some turtles also required a turtling rod to tame, and some also required a Grinning Turtle or Syncopated Turtle as their active familiar as well. New turtles were also added in the revamp. See Turtle Taming/Old for more information.
