Avatar
An avatar is an identifying picture that shows up in your profile. Your default avatar is a male or female class avatar. You can change your avatar by wearing an outfit or certain specific pieces of equipment, having certain specific effects, or by using a custom avatar form. Owning a custom avatar allows you to change back and forth between it and your default avatar in the options menu. If you are Beyond the Pale, then your avatar becomes that of an Astral Spirit.
A large number, but not all, of the effects that will change your avatar come from the potions dropped with the Monster Manuel.

Unlockable Avatars
By using a full set of 3 Steam elemental cards, additional class-independent avatars are permanently unlocked. These override the above avatar choices

Each outfit you wear also changes your avatar. These override the above avatar choices
Monster Manuel Drops
Owning a manuel causes a number of potions to drop. Using one of these potions gives you a new avatar. This avatar overrides all of the above
Card Sleeve Avatars
If you are holding a Card Sleeve, the specific card within the sleeve will also give you a custom avatar
Special Avatars
Wearing specific items, or having specific effects can also further modify your avatar. It is possible to have more than one of these active at a time, though only one avatar will show
Avatar Modifiers
- The red and green face paints will further modify your avatar by changing its color to red or green respectively.
- Using a golden gun on yourself or another player will change the recipients avatar to a golden color.
- The effect "This is Fine" from the coping juice potion will color the players avatar red with flames overlaid on top.
- Defeating the Naughty Sorceress in the Disguises Delimit challenge path will unlock masks to put your avatar.
- A "KICK ME" sign can be placed on someone else's avatar. Players cannot see a sign on themselves, but can view one that's been placed on another player.
- Sacrificing 99 moxie weeds through pantagramming will summon “Purple Stained” pantogram pants that will turn your avatar purple.
